Anekke City: Life in 35mm
Like an infinite reflection, my face was etched on the lights of the big city. With fast feet and hands flying to the shutter speed of my camera, my head, eye and heart aligned themselves to capture the beauty of everyday life.
The decisive moment was awaiting me there outside, while I captured pieces of life in square format, with my eye on the masses of passers-by, who were strangers to me. And in what nobody sees, the streets of Chicago became a huge canvas in black and white.
A small screen in my hands would become a window onto the world, drawing me a map of virtual heartbeats welling up behind my fingers, to capture the essence of what is really important: my reflection when only I can see myself. Because photography is not only an instant of eternal light: it is a way of feeling, touching and loving.
It is a way to describe who you are through your eyes, of being yourself and letting your essence blossom through your art. Because what is genuine shines over the oceans of images that say nothing.
So it became clearer to me than ever before: I would live life in 35mm. I would dance with the lights of the city, with the camera in my hands and with inquisitive eyes. Bare of filters, I would get lost in its streets to tell stories that only I would write. Because each look is unique. Because only I would decide who I would be. Because my authenticity is my power.
And you, what is yours?
